AS A U.S. BUSINESS tax manager YOU WILL:

  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of U.S. tax concepts as it relates to U.S. Corporate Federal and state tax compliance.
  • U.S. income tax provision review / U.S. income tax provision preparation.
  • Leading preparation and reviews of U.S. corporate and partnership tax returns.
  • Conducting federal and state tax research, thoroughly analyzing U.S. cross-border tax issues and drafting technical memos related to specific client matters.
  • Developing and delivering innovative tax planning ideas with timely and responsive services and work product that meet or exceeds client expectations.
  • Analyzing the client’s tax situation effectively to arrive at appropriate conclusions with practical and creative solutions.
  • Create innovative and tailored tax solutions for clients and recommend actions to achieve future tax results.
  • Advise clients on relevant tax and non-tax issues and be responsible for services delivered and engagement profitability.
  • Work collaboratively to solve problems and identify opportunities in tax compliance and consulting assignments.  Prepare complex tax assignments.
  • Coach, mentor, and work with team members to build trusted relationships.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for business development.
  • Able to resolve complex US tax issues and has the desire to develop further skills in this field.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional credential is required – CPA (license in Canada or U.S.), Masters in Tax (U.S.) or Enrolled Agent
  • Completed undergraduate degree with transferable academic credentials paired with 5 to 7 years of relevant U.S. business tax experience in public practice or industry (equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience organizing complex information to support research and tax preparation requirements.
  • Superior analytical skills with an ability to identify issues and initiate their resolution.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite and tax preparation software such as CCH’s Axcess.
  • Travel may be required.
