About Ian

Ian Crosby is a seasoned leader and entrepreneur in the financial services and fintech sectors. Currently heading Accounting Products at Mercury following Teal’s acquisition in 2024, Ian founded and scaled Teal—an embedded accounting platform tailored for neobanks and SaaS companies. Prior to that, he led Financial Services at Shopify, managing Banking, Lending, and Accounting products as well as money infrastructure teams, and was instrumental in launching Shopify Balance, a money management solution for e-commerce merchants. Earlier in his career, Ian co-founded Bench Accounting, growing it into North America’s largest bookkeeping service for SMBs, raising over $100M and earning accolades including Forbes 30 Under 30 and Canada’s 40 Under 40.
