We are delighted to announce that our Calgary colleagues, Senior Tax Specialists Janice Do and Sally He have successfully completed the Common Final Examination (CFE). The CFE was written in September and the results have just been announced by CPA Canada.

Janice and Sally continue our tradition of a 100% pass rate on the CFE – you’ve done us and yourselves proud!

This is a major milestone, and a successful grade is a key requirement to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant. The CFE is definitely not a “walk in the park.” To get this far, candidates must go through a rigorous two-year graduate level program. That educational journey culminates in sitting for a three-day exam administered by CPA Canada. The CFE tests for technical competencies in:

  • Financial reporting
  • Management accounting
  • Strategy and governance
  • Audit and assurance
  • Corporate finance
  • Taxation

The CFE also evaluates professional skills including:

  • Critical analysis
  • Problem solving and decision-making, and
  • Professional judgment

Janice and Sally, your achievements deserve to be celebrated. Our sincere congratulations on a job well done.
